Local councils are key players in climate mitigation and adaptation. Thinking global, we can act local! Join the Community First team at our upcoming Climate forum to learn what climate change means for Cairns, how council can support health in a changing climate, and how we can prepare for future climate impacts. See you there!
Community First is making the buyback of Taylor Point a core issue in the Cairns Regional Council election. Now is the time for all of us to turn up for what has to surely be the final push for the return of this beautiful headland to the community. Join us, bring the children, the parents, the neighbours and friends. Let's make this big and show both the state and local governments that the community still really cares after so many years of staunch advocacy.

This campaign is powered by many small donors just like you. The best things in life are free, but we have some unavoidable costs like flyers, signs & stakes.
We're not just being nosey. Under Queensland's strict new election laws, we're required to collect the personal details about donors set out in this form and disclose to the Electoral Commission Queensland if your total donations add up to $500 or more. We must send this to ECQ within a week, or within 24 hours if in the last week before election day. The ECQ puts some of your details on the ECQ website for public viewing.
We are different. Our aim is to support the Cairns community to speak up and build safe, sustainable, vibrant neighbourhoods from the ground up. We need your help to power this grassroots campaign. We'd love you to lend a hand with:
your ideas on what our council can do better
keeping us in the loop with local events and projects
helping on a stall
putting up roadside signs
inviting candidates to meet your friends & networks
handing out at polling booths
sharing social media
coming to our events & public meetings
creative ideas
We'd love to hear from you about your concerns and ideas for our region.
